DCT Recruitment are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.
This is permanent position based in Liverpool .
Key Responsibilities:
• Analyse project specifications, working drawings, specifications and other documentation to prepare comprehensive cost estimates for steel fabrication projects.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to understand project requirements and constraints.
• Calculate material, labour, and equipment costs to develop accurate and competitive bids.
• Maintain and update cost databases, ensuring accuracy and relevance of data used in estimating.
• Source and procure materials required for steel fabrication projects, ensuring the best value and quality.
• Negotiate with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favourable terms, and timely delivery of materials.
• Manage relationships with suppliers, resolving any issues related to quality, delivery, or cost.
• Track and monitor inventory levels to ensure sufficient materials are available for ongoing and upcoming projects.
• Create detailed and precise working drawings for fabricators and site teams, ensuring clarity and accuracy.
• Use industry-standard software and tools to produce drawings that meet project specifications and standards.
• Collaborate with client and consulting engineers and project managers to ensure drawings align with project requirements and timelines.
• Review and revise drawings as needed based on feedback from fabricators and site teams.
• Work closely with project managers, engineers, fabricators, and site teams to ensure seamless project execution.
• Communicate effectively with all stakeholders to provide updates on project status, cost estimates, and procurement activities.
• Participate in project meetings, providing insights and recommendations to support successful project outcomes.
• Stay updated on industry trends, advancements in steel fabrication techniques, and new materials.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings, implementing best practices in estimating and procurement.
Qualifications:
• Proven experience as an Estimator in the steel fabrication industry.
• Strong knowledge of steel fabrication processes, materials, and cost estimation techniques.
• Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software and CAD tools.
• Excellent negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in cost estimation and procurement.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
