An internationally backed Freight business based in Nottingham are currently looking for a Head of Procurement to join their team on a Fixed Term Contract basis. With a £325m turnover in the UK and billion pound turnover across group worldwide; You will ideally have experience of highly regulated environments and ideally around Engineering/Manufacturing sectors. Exposure to working in a larger organisation will definitely be looked upon more favourably. 
 
Reporting into the CFO; the Head of Procurement you will be instrumental in leading and mentoring a team whilst playing a key part in influencing best practice, bringing structure and rigour to procurement practices and refining and reviewing existing suppliers.
Although this is initially a Fixed Term Contract, this role could become a permanent role down the line. You will help the business to work towards a world class procurement centre of excellence.
 
** This is a hybrid role; 3 days in the office, 2 from home **
 
Role: Head of Procurement (Fixed Term Contract – up to 9 months initially)  
Salary: £80,000 (pro rata) + car allowance + bonus + benefits
Location: Nottingham
 
The key responsibilities of the Head of Procurement will be:-
 
  • Implementation, development and coordination of a company-wide procurement policy to control costs at all levels, rationalising purchasing and educated employees on the purchasing process.
  • Implement clear Key Performance Indicators to clearly monitor performance and continue to drive continuous improvements to contribute to the overall success of the business, by supporting each business area as required.
  • Motivate the Purchasing team to ensure the most cost effective procurement process, including provision of market information and best buying system to deliver measurable savings.
  • Development of a clear Category/Supplier Strategy and a consistent management in terms of qualification, evaluation and development to ensure continuous supply.
  • Interaction with the International Teams of group and other UK entities to seize the opportunities from bundling purchasing volumes by applying maximum supplier leverage.
  • Engage and energise all team members to contribute to the success of the business based on effective communication both upwards and downwards, timely feedback on performance and providing
 
 The Key requirements of the Head of Procurement will be:-
 
  • 5+ Years Management Experience (managing 6+ people)
  • 5+ Years Procurement Experience
  • Experiences in Stakeholder Management / Customer focused
  • Strong Communication skills
  • Experienced in Supplier Relationship Management – SRM
  • Understanding of Maintenance/Production process (Desirable but not essential)
  • Fully CIPS Qualified
  • Degree Level
  • Management Qualifications
