We are currently seeking a skilled and experienced Warehouse Operative to join their team.
Job Summary: The Warehouse Operative will be responsible for the efficient handling, storage, and dispatch of goods within the warehouse. This role requires a candidate with experience in forklifting, a valid forklift licence, and a clean driving licence due to occasional travel to other sites. As the role is within a regulated environment, the candidate must be British for required security checks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Efficiently and safely operate forklifts to load, unload, move, stack, and stage products and materials.
- Conduct daily checks and maintenance on forklifts to ensure they are in good working condition.
- Receive and inspect incoming goods for accuracy and damage, ensuring proper documentation is maintained.
- Accurately pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch.
- Maintain an organized and clean warehouse, adhering to health and safety regulations.
- Assist in stock control, including stocktaking and inventory management.
- Travel to other sites as required to support operational needs, ensuring safe and timely transportation of goods.
- Comply with all company policies and procedures, particularly in relation to safety and security.
- Undertake any other duties as required by the Warehouse Manager.
Qualifications and Requirements:
- Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is essential.
- Valid forklift licence with demonstrated experience in forklifting.
- Clean driving licence (category B).
- Must be British due to required security checks for working in a regulated environment.
- Good physical fitness, with the ability to lift heavy items and work on your feet for extended periods.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude.
- Basic computer skills for inventory management and record-keeping.
