About the Opportunity:
As our Systems Development and Support Manager, you will deliver a strategic roadmap of innovative solutions, integration and upgrades to bring systems up to date across the UK business, consistent with the company and Group vision to grow, innovate and evolve.
What you’ll do:
Systems Delivery:
- Deliver the capability to provide data, analytics and decision-making information and tools to the UK business lines
- Define strategic roadmaps for technologies, enabling the business to achieve organisational goals, policies, and procedures
- Educate and support managers across the business in the use of data to achieve greater control of processes, resources and productivity
- Work with IT to provide for data security and control, strategic computing and disaster recovery of systems solutions
Growth and Development:
- Provide guidance related to the integration of new business acquisitions within the systems landscape
- Achieve and exceed defined business and customer SLA and KPI targets
- Provide real time customer development and support by staying abreast of advances in technology
- Analyse product performance and continually improve
- Testing of new hardware and software prior to roll out (to include Unit, UAT and Regression testing)
Management and Leadership:
- Integrate existing internal and external facing product support teams into a single Systems Team
- Ensure service team is managed, mentored, and developed
- Act as a point of escalation for department heads, managers and vendors to solicit cooperation and resolve any issues
- Drive and guide the systems team to identify commercial opportunities
- Deliver a solution of Training and Education for the Systems Team and the User Community
About you:
Already technically astute with a solid background in project management and stakeholder engagement, the following attributes and competencies will be key factors of your ability to succeed as our new Systems Development and Support Manager:
- Previously led systems and development teams or individuals
- Previous experience or education in a systems or application service desk environment. (ITIL)
- Strong technical awareness with excellent computer hardware and software skills
- Flexible approach to work, including travel (travel to other UK offices will be required)
- Commercially aware
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Project Management experience
- Analytics experience
- Previous history in a systems technical and/ or programming role is big plus!
