SEN Teaching Assistant
Overview:
Astro Education is seeking an Experienced Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to support a school in Newcastle-Under-Lyme starting in September. The role involves working one-on-one with a Year 1 student who has SEN (Autism), providing tailored support outside of the standard curriculum to meet the student's individual needs as outlined in their Education Health Care Plan (EHCP). The ideal candidate will have experience supporting students with SEN, particularly those with Autism, and working with students at an Early Years level. You will collaborate closely with the teacher to support the student but will also be expected to work independently based on the relationship you build with the student.

Location: Newcastle-under-Lyme
Pay: £85-£95 daily pay (DOE)/ Paid Weekly
Start: September
Durations: Full time – Ongoing.
Requirements:
- Have necessary experience or have transferable qualities
- Experienced working with SEN students.
- Experience of working with students on a 1:1 basis
- Be passionate about education and supporting students.
- Eligibility to work in the UK (must have valid visa/ overseas police check if relevant)
- Relevant references covering your last two years of employment
- DBS on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
