EARTHWORKS SITE MANAGER

Are you a Site Manager with over 10 years of experience in earthworks and remediation? Are you ready for a new contract based in Newport Pagnell (Milton Keynes) for the next 24 months? If so, we want to hear from you

Rate: £350.00 per day

About the Project

Be a part of our innovative initiative at Newport Pagnell, where we are transforming a floodplain to improve water management, prevent flooding, and enhance the area's ecological value. This project is crucial in readying the land for a new residential build, ensuring a safe and sustainable foundation for future development. Your leadership will be essential in driving this critical phase to success.

Earthworks Site Manager Key Activities and Responsibilities

Floodplain Transformation:

  • Objective: Improve water management and flood prevention.
  • Techniques: Implement levees, channels, retention basins, and other water control features.

Soil Testing:

  • Purpose: Analyse soil composition, stability, and suitability for earthworks.
  • Methods: Conduct geotechnical analysis, including tests for soil texture, density, compaction, permeability, and contamination.

Importing Subsoil:

  • Volume: Manage the importation of 80,000 cubic meters of subsoil.
  • Purpose: Raise land levels, create stable foundations, and amend soil properties.
  • Logistics: Oversee sourcing, transportation, and placement planning to ensure efficiency and minimal environmental impact.

Earthworks Site Manager Key Responsibilities

  • Planning:

    • Conduct site surveys and soil testing.
    • Design floodplain transformation with engineers.
    • Obtain necessary permits and approvals.
  • Execution:

    • Prepare the site and set up infrastructure.
    • Manage logistics of subsoil importation and placement.
    • Supervise earthmoving activities and construction of flood management structures.
  • Monitoring and Reporting:

    • Ensure quality control through regular soil and construction testing.
    • Provide progress reports to stakeholders.
  • Completion:

    • Restore the site to a stable, safe, and environmentally sound condition.
    • Prepare final reports and hand over the project to the client.

  • Environmental Impact: Minimize environmental impact, particularly in sensitive floodplain areas.
