Our client is offering an exciting opportunity for a skilled Painter & Decorator to join their team, providing Fabric Maintenance and void repairs to residential buildings in the Fareham area. The role is ideal for a conscientious and enthusiastic individual with a can-do attitude and a flexible approach to work.
Day to Day of the role:
- Conduct a wide variety of painting and decorating repairs in occupied homes, buildings, and empty properties, including preparation, emulsion, gloss painting, wallpaper hanging, spray painting, and artex repairs.
- Diagnose and rectify faults within core and other trades related to repair requests.
- Ensure the quality of work meets the highest standards at all times and support all trades to deliver a professional and safe maintenance and repairs service.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations and resolve them efficiently, keeping the customer informed of progress and plans.
- Undertake work efficiently and cost-effectively, minimising non-productive time and reporting any difficulties encountered.
- Adhere to Health & Safety rules, using risk assessments, method statements, and PPE as required.
- Maintain tools, plant, and equipment in a safe, clean, and workable condition.
- Maintain accurate records of works undertaken with photographic evidence as necessary.
- Be willing to work out of hours as required by the client and assist other contracts as directed.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- NVQ level 2 in Painting and Decorating or equivalent.
- Full current driving licence.
- Some Plastering experience would be advantageous.
- Ability to silicon to a good standard.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to remain professional in contentious situations.
- Organised approach to meet demands effectively and timely.
- Team player with a proactive attitude towards development needs.
- Practical approach to health and safety.
- Self-managed, self-motivated, and able to prioritise work efficiently.
- A DBS will be conducted for this role.
