We are looking for a strategic and results-driven Commercial Manager to join our expanding Civil Engineering firm. This role offers a dynamic mix of site and office responsibilities, ensuring a varied and engaging work environment.

About the Role

As a Commercial Manager, you will:

  • Oversee the commercial aspects of Civil Engineering projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and financial targets.
  • Negotiate and manage contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, drafting, reviewing, and negotiating terms to mitigate risks and maximize profitability.
  • Monitor project budgets and financial performance, analyze variances, and implement corrective actions to keep projects on track.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers, Engineers, and other stakeholders to develop accurate cost estimates, budgets, and financial forecasts.
  • Conduct regular financial reporting and analysis, providing insights into project performance, profitability, cash flow, and risk exposure.
  • Provide guidance and support on commercial matters, including contract interpretation and dispute resolution.

Ideal Candidate Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Proven experience as a Commercial Manager or similar role in the Civil Engineering or Construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of contract law, procurement practices, and commercial management principles.
  • Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
  • Proficiency in financial analysis, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate teams to achieve project objectives.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to ethical standards, integrity, and professionalism.
  • UK Driving License.
