Welding / Mechanical Engineer – Flintshire

£47 per hour (outside IR35) + site-based work + average 45hr billable week + overtime + min 6-12month initial contract (rolling)

Welding / Mechanical Engineer responsibilities include:

• Provide independent testing, inspection and quality control services relating to equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction.
• Provide detailed reports following inspections & quality control.
• Equipment includes piping installations & rotating equipment (pumps, compressors, turbines) and other mechanical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
• Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Welding / Mechanical Engineer profile:

• An experienced Welding Engineer with min 10yrs background as a Welding Engineer, 5yrs of which should be in equipment inspections
• Experience testing & inspecting piping installations, rotation equipment (including pumps, compressors, turbines, pressure vessels) etc.
• C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in Engineering discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN
• Radiographic Interpretation Levell II
• PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II
• Sound understanding of Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.
• Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.
• Ability to work successfully in a team, providing guidance, support and training as and when necessary.
