Operam Education Leadership Recruitment are working in partnership with a private training academy who are recruiting for a lead functional skills tutor to come and join their expanding team. Based in the North West, the role is hybrid, so could be suited to experienced professionals looking for a flexible and dynamic work/life balance.

As a lead tutor for functional skills, you would be responsible for developing and implementing engaging lesson plans, assessing apprentice progress and providing guidance to ensure apprentices achieve. As the lead tutor, you will also mentor and support other tutors, ensuring the consistent delivery of the curriculum and maintaining high teaching standards.

About the Role

• Lead functional skills tutor focusing on Maths and English
• Delivery of Maths and English as a functional skill qualification to apprentice and young adult learners
• Deliver and assess students and progress through regular tests, assignments and observations
• Mentor and support other tutors to ensure consistent delivery of the curriculum and maintaining high standards  

About You

• Qualified to Level 3 Certificate in Adult Literacy and/or Numeracy or Functional Skills at Level 2
• Proven experience of delivering numeracy & literacy qualifications
• Understanding of the Work Based Learning environment
• Self-motivated, energetic and driven individual
• Strong presentation and communication skills
