THE ROLE AND OUR CLIENT

Our client expects high standards of quality, workmanship, health, safety and environmental management and you are responsible for monitoring, managing, and supporting its achievement. You will be sharing the working foreman duties for the client’s site with the Electrical Working Foreman with one of you always present on the site.

You will be responsible for carrying out and managing mechanical, fabric and specialist (in house & subcontracted) reactive and PPM delivered on site and will be allocated time to do this. The remainder of your time will be carrying out building fabric trade and foreman related works to other clients on the Isle of Wight.

As the Working Foreman you are accountable for ensuring you, and those that you, support and supervise follow and comply with Contract and Company processes and procedures.

SKILLS REQUIRED

  • Be the technical expert for Mechanical & Fabric associated works, providing efficient and effective solutions where required.
  • Ability to carry out Mechanical & Fabric activities shall address but not be limited to the following: Painting and decorating, carpentry work, door and door furniture, ground works, water testing and plumbing, filter changing
  • Able to apply a practical approach and solutions to Health & Safety.
  • Proficient in MS Office to an intermediate level and the ability to use an IT system for job management understanding how it functions and interacts with other systems.

KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED

  • Technical Mechanical & Fabric knowledge of working methods, practices, procedures, processes, regulations, and legislation.
  • Have knowledge of the materials and methods used in the construction and building maintenance industry.

QUALIFICATION

  • NVQ or equivalent in trade specific
  • SSSTS Health and Safety (Desirable)
  • Scaffold Inspector course (Desirable)
  • FLT / PASMA / First Aid (Desirable)
  • Have a full driving licence.

EXPERIENCE

  • 5 years’ experience of working in a Mechanical & Fabric maintenance environment.
  • 2 years’ experience of working in Commercial (preferred).
  • Proven success in meeting PPM compliance
  • Managing the delivery of maintenance and repairs and planned works
