£45,000 - £50,000/annum

Main functions of the role:

  • To modify existing drawings and create new designs based on a series of design rules
  • Production of Electrical Designs from customer specifications
  • Attending meetings, both in house and external
  • Ensure complete customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities (Rotating Machines):

  • Creating new electrical designs based on a series of design rules
  • To operate within company guidelines and procedures
  • Attending both in-house and external meetings
  • Assisting the sales team in costing and preparing quotations for customers
  • Direct involvement in providing support and technical knowledge where required
  • Liaising with external departments including Sales, Production, Quality, Test and Purchasing.

Key Responsibilities (Transformers):

  • The generation of both tender and contract transformer designs
  • To meet the requirements for tender/contract design data in accordance with the agreed due dates
  • Liaison with external customers and other departments as necessary
  • Ensuring that procedures and processes are properly reviewed and worked to
  • The continual improvement of quality and environmental standards
  • Cooperate and coordinate with production and quality teams to resolve issues and improve design quality
  • Continuous development of design processes and procedures
  • The maintenance of housekeeping standards dictated by the company
  • The proper utilisation and maintenance of all equipment provided for his/her use
  • Analysis of Quality Alerts, actioned appropriately and in a timely manner
  • Contribution to companywide Transformer Engineering and Manufacturing initiatives
  • To ensure the requirements of new technology are assessed and effectively utilised

Qualifications/Skills required for the role:

  • GCSEs High school or equivalent;
  • Degree or Tertiary Qualification in Electrical Engineering
  • Strong Microsoft Office experience, particularly Excel and VBA programming.
  • Ability to read Engineering Drawings (Solidworks & Autocad)
  • Desirable candidates will have electrical engineering knowledge, specifically basic AC and DC theory, magnetic circuits, electrical design, motors, generators and transformers. Personal characteristics/Attributes required:
  • To be able to work well using own initiative and as part of a team
  • Ability to ensure the work gets done in a timely and effective manner
