Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector – Midlands

£37 per hour (outside IR35) + average 45-50hr working week + paid travel time + fuel + overnight accommodation expenses (as required) + long-term contract work (12-months rolling)

Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector responsibilities include:

• Provide independent inspection and quality control services relating to equipment in manufacture, fabrication, and construction across various fabrication sites in the UK.
• Provide detailed reports following inspections & quality control.
• Equipment includes pressure / piping equipment and other mechanical items manufactured and installed to conventional codes, standards, and regulations.
• Review of fabrication / manufacturing documentation within delegated authority levels in terms of quality plans, ITP’s fabrication / manufacturing procedures, welding procedures, NDE procedures, compilation, and review of LTQRs.
• Develop and maintain excellent relationships with both internal and external Customers.

Field-based Mechanical QC Inspector profile:

• An experienced Welding Engineer with ideally min 10yrs background as an Engineer, with at least 5yrs of this in equipment inspections (including NDT & material control)
• C&G Cert / or equivalent experience in Fabrication & Welding and/or HNC/BTEC in Engineering discipline.
• CSWIP 3.1/3.2PCN
• Radiographic Interpretation Level II
• PCN Liquid Penetrant Inspection Level II
• Sound understanding of Materials, Welding and NDE techniques.
• Good working knowledge of UK requirements for Inspection in high hazard industries.
• Ideally to be located in the Midlands for ease of travel to various fabrication sites.
• Clean UK driving Licence & comfortable travelling to various sites, predominantly in the Midlands, however also Wales, the SW and North West.
