Technical Administrator

Belmont Recruitment are currently looking for an experienced Technical Administrator to join Barnsley Council’s Highways Team on an initial 6 month temporary contract. This is a full-time role working 37 hours per week, Monday to Friday.
Key Duties:
- Serving notices and permits in accordance with relevant legislation and updating the systems with this information
- Responding to and resolving queries and reports of emergencies/dangerous defects
- Liaising with external bodies such as Police and Fire Service regarding incidents on the highway
- Undertaking financial administration including placing purchase orders, receipting goods, invoicing, crediting, and calculating costs
- Setting up new contracts and ensuring they are maintained and renewed
- Ordering internal and external training for members of the operational workforce
- Dealing with incoming enquiries, complaints, and requests from a variety of sources
Requirements:
- Experience of working in an Operational Depot or technical environment
- Experience of using and maintaining computerised systems
- Experience of using SAP or other financial database systems
- High level of customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders
