Job Description:

Dunbar Education are seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to join our team. In a specialist school for deaf children. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in providing high-quality education and support tailored to the needs of our students, fostering an inclusive and stimulating learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualised education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Use innovative teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles and needs.
  • Promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Collaborate with parents, caregivers, and other professionals to support student development.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing regular feedback and reports.
  • Participate in continuous professional development and training.

Essential Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
  • Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) clearance.
  • Training in safeguarding children.
  • Experience and/or qualification in teaching deaf children.
  • Knowledge and skills in British Sign Language (BSL) or a commitment to work towards a minimum of BSL Level 3.
