Are you a Chef with a desire to pass on your knowledge to students? Do you have a passion to teach ? Fed up working weekends and evenings? 

This is an exciting role is to engage with, deliver to and develop a small cohort of learners who are completing their Level 1 in Hospitality and Catering. We are happy to receive applicants from trainee tutors if they have strong occupational competence.

This role is centre based and gives the opportunity to change young learners lives. The centre is located n Newcastle Under Lyme working 4 days delivery in the centre and half a day on a Friday working from home. You will be working closely with the management team and fellow tutors to deliver the Level 1/2 gateway qualifications in Catering in a fun and enthusiast way.

Many of the learners will struggle with a Special Educational Need, so experience in working with hard to reach and disadvantage students would be an advantage. The centre has teaching assistants for students who may require some additional help.

Key responsibilities and experience required

• Delivering Study Program learners with EHCP and challenging behaviour
• Will be delivering Hospitality (back of house mainly; chef, cooking experience)
• Will be following Gateway courses Level 1-2 to class sizes of approx. 6 with TA where needed.
• Teaching qualification is ideal but not essential
• Assessing qualification such as a A1 or TAQA would be an advantage but not essential.
• A background in Hospitality and Catering in order to draw on your own experience to help guide these young learners.
• Confident in delivering and developing training material
• Strong organisational skills
• Experience teaching SEN or hard to reach students, either in the classroom or work place environment would be an advantage
• An empathy and understanding to learners who are at a disadvantage
• Strong team player
