The Opportunity:  Are you ready to harvest and cultivate a fulfilling career in the machinery sector for a busy farming enterprise where each day brings unique challenges? We are searching for a proven skilled machinery expert, who can confidently manage and work within a team to repair and maintain a wide spectrum of machinery and vehicles within the business. A hands-on role, the Workshop Manager will operate from our client’s site in Herefordshire bringing with them the skills and motivation to manage a busy daily schedule, collaborating seamlessly across the whole farming operation, embracing the given opportunities and responsibilities with enthusiasm.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To schedule and conduct routine service and maintenance requirements for farm machinery, equipment and vehicles
  • To diagnose and rectify machinery breakdowns and repairs to minimise downtime
  • To maintain accurate record keeping; routine service, repairs and maintenance
  • To adhere to safety regulations and procedures when performing repairs and maintenance
  • To ensure compliance with industry standards and requirements
  • To maintain an inventory of spare parts and equipment, procuring when necessary
  • To collaborate with various departments of the business to understand their equipment needs and usage

Skills you will need:
Essential:

  • Previous experience of undertaking routine machinery repairs and maintenance work
  • Good technical knowledge of agricultural machinery
  • Proficient in diagnosing and repairing machinery and hydraulic faults
  • Excellent communication skills, liaising confidently and effectively with internal and external customers
  • Organised with the ability to manage and prioritise workloads to meet deadlines
  • A problem solver with a keen eye for detail
  • A team player with the ability to work collaboratively and autonomously
  • Driven and diligent, with a flexible approach to the needs of a busy agricultural enterprise
  • Full driving licence
