Our client is a leading FMCG company with strong high street brands and effective partnerships with leading global companies in the sector. Due to continued growth and launch of new products they are seeking a Development Chemist to join their growing NPD Team.

Role

Support the development of the NPD pipeline, making use of external bodies, suppliers etc. to leverage new technologies for differentiated innovations.

Keep abreast of market developments, building insights and identifying opportunities for new formats. Research new raw materials and technology.

Initiate the setting up, monitoring and recording of stability and compatibility records.

Ensure that products are safe and conform to all legal and customer requirements.

Support project management activities for product dossiers, back of pack declarations etc.

Prepare all necessary manufacturing and Quality Control documents and the supplying of all necessary finished product standards to Quality Control.

Ensure that all products can be successfully scaled up to production batch sizes by working closely with the NPD Manager and Mixing Staff.

Support the Blending Team with on-going production and troubleshooting any production issues.

Present to internal and external stakeholders on project milestones and provide product briefings to suppliers and 3rd parties, when required.

Candidate

Graduate of Chemistry or related subject.

At least 1 year of relevant industry lab experience in product development, formulation, NPD pipeline etc.

Experience in laundry, detergents, household cleaning or related FMCG products, or in personal care / cosmetics. Other related sectors also considered.

Knowledge of surfactants and related chemistry.

Excellent communication skills.
