Job Purpose:

This role plays a crucial role in supporting various activities within the sales department. This position primarily focuses on providing technical expertise and assistance to the sales team in order to enhance their effectiveness in securing new business opportunities. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, such as Sales, marketing, and technical, to ensure the successful execution of sales initiatives

Overview of Main Responsibilities:

  • Targets: Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual targets for sales through the effective development of existing and new customer accounts
  • Bid/Proposal writing: Collaborate with the sales/technical teams to develop compelling and technically accurate bid/proposal submissions. This includes understanding customer requirements, conducting research, and effectively communicating the value proposition of the company's products or services.
  • Sales Material Preparation: Assist in the creation of case studies, to support sales pitches and presentations. Ensure that the materials effectively communicate the technical aspects and benefits of the products or services.
  • Contractual Agreement Support: Work closely with the EA Technology legal team to support the drafting and review of contractual agreements. Provide technical insights and expertise to ensure that the agreements align with customer requirements and company capabilities.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with industry trends, product knowledge, and competitive landscape to provide accurate technical information and guidance to the sales team. This includes conducting product demonstrations, answering technical enquiries, and addressing customer concerns.
  • Sales Support: Collaborate with the VisNet sales team to identify customer needs and develop tailored solutions. Assist in preparing sales proposals, pricing models, and sales forecasts to support the sales process.
  • Relationship Building: Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, partners, and internal teams such as Marketing, Technical and the wider EA Technology teams. Act as a technical liaison between customers and the sales team, ensuring effective communication and understanding of customer requirements.


Essential skills and experience

  • Strong technical knowledge and understanding of the types of products or services being deployed onto Low Voltage Distribution Networks.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey technical information to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and driving revenue growth.
  • Strong negotiation and closing skills.
  • Customer-focused mindset with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.


Knowledge

  • A good knowledge of electricity distribution networks would be an advantage, in particular the application of LV products in this area
  • Degree in a relevant technical field (e.g., engineering, computer science) or equivalent experience.
  • Proven experience in technical sales or a related field.
