As a Cybersecurity Researcher you'll make, break and assure systems across a wide variety of projects. You'll enjoy researching and characterising systems and technologies to understand how they work and will use your expertise to discover weaknesses and vulnerabilities in system design and implementation in order to provide technical guidance to Roke's National Security customers.

There are multiple roles available depending on your experience with the ability to either provide development or step into a leadership position in a rapidly growing area of Roke's National Security business.

The Key Requirements...
Experience with some of the below:
  • Malware or firmware analysis and reverse engineering
  • Vulnerability analysis and/or exploit development
  • Systems engineering and security models
  • Network architectures, protocol analysis or binary file format engineering
  • Processor architectures (x86-64 and ARM), operating systems and/or firmware internals.
The types of tools, techniques and technologies you will have used might include:
  • IDA Pro or Ghidra
  • Debugging with gdb, binary exploitation and code injection
  • Programming, prototyping or tool-making; for example, using Python, C or bash
  • Protocol analysis using Wireshark or fuzzing with AFL.

Where you'll work...
You'll find our Romsey site located within beautiful Hampshire countryside, close to the picturesque New Forest District and not far from a superb stretch of the south coast. This is no corporate concrete jungle; this is a manor house site, with ample parking an on-site gym and a driveway full of daffodils in the spring.

Clearances...
Due to the nature of this role, we require you to be eligible to achieve DV clearance. As a result, you should be a British Citizen and have resided in the U.K. for the last 10 years.
