Role: Science Technician
Location: Secondary School in Leeds
Start Date: September 2024
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and maintain laboratory equipment and materials for practical science lessons.
- Assist teachers in the delivery of engaging and effective science experiments and demonstrations.
- Ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to within the laboratory.
- Maintain accurate records of equipment, materials, and chemicals.
- Provide technical support during lessons and assist with the set-up and dismantling of laboratory equipment.
- Conduct routine maintenance and repairs of laboratory apparatus.
- Support the department in organising and managing resources efficiently.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of innovative practical science activities.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as a Science Technician in an educational setting.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory practices and procedures.
- Excellent understanding of health and safety regulations in a laboratory environment.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills to liaise with staff and students.
- A proactive approach to problem-solving and resource management.
