About the Company

Our client is a dynamic and forward-thinking construction company specialising in commercial projects ranging from £1m to £10m. Their expertise lies in new construction projects, delivering quality and excellence to their clients. Based in Kettering, Northamptonshire, they are currently seeking an experienced Estimator to join their growing team.

The Role

As an Estimator, you will play a crucial role in the success of our client's projects. Your main responsibility will be to accurately estimate the costs associated with their construction projects. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in main contracting and a keen eye for detail.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects.
  • Analyse plans, bills of quantities, and other project documentation to estimate costs.
  • Work closely with project managers, engineers, and architects to understand project requirements.
  • Assess cost-effectiveness and identify areas for cost reduction.
  • Maintain up-to-date market knowledge on labour, materials, and construction techniques.

Requirements

  • Proven experience as an Estimator within a main contractor environment.
  • Must have construction experience with steel frame, RC frame, and portal frame projects.
  • Strong understanding of construction commercial projects.
  • Excellent analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimation software; experience with Causeway's Estimating software is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
