The Opportunity
Due to successful project expansion, an incredible opportunity has arisen to have the chance of working with a well-established engineering consultancy that specialises in the development of major projects across the UK, driven by a workforce of ambitious nuclear experts. In your role as an Engineering Commercial Manager you will be responsible for leading and managing nuclear projects from the conception stage to completion.

The role
As a Commercial Manager your role will be to lead all commercial and contract management activities and be on hand to provide commercial expertise and advice to the UK based contract management team responsible for managing the main Responsible Designer (RD) Contract for SZC, for the Nuclear Island part of the SZC design scope.

Your duties and responsibilities will be

  • Contractual analysis of the terms and conditions of the Contract (NSA) to provide expertise on supported area of scope
  • Implementing the set of specific project procedures for commercial management.
  • Working in close collaboration with the technical team, project team and other Contract Managers.
  • Managing contract relationship with the customer
  • Following the validation/approval of the contractual change, kick off the technical instruction and coordinates all the functions
  • Gathering all the elements constituting the response to the contractual event and managing its handling through a dedicated contract management client portal (CEMAR)
  • Participating in the preparation of the technical description
  • Consolidating the technical and commercial proposal.
  • Organising the proposal review with other contributors.

You will have the following qualifications & experience

  • Experience in Contract Management on complex and multicultural. industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • CIPS accreditation.
  • Knowledge of risk and claims management.
  • Educated to degree level.
  • Specific knowledge of UK law and its impact upon the contractual. and commercial functions.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Results oriented.
  • Analytical and capacity to synthesize ideas.
  • Ability to negotiate and manage conflicts.
