Role: Electronics Design Engineer

Location: Southampton

Salary: £40,000 - £50,000

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join a small engineering team involved in a variety of exciting projects. The work is varied, and training will be available where needed.

The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate a record of successful projects in one or more of the following areas:

- PC-X86

- Arm

- Interfacing, PCIe, USB, Ethernet, HDMI, serial

- Power supplies

Experience porting Microsoft Windows Embedded and Linux would be useful as would experience of FPGA usage and programming.

Experience of EMC requirements and design constraints will be expected.

The work will involve following a defined process:

• taking a brief or interpreting the customers' requirements
• producing a detailed requirement specification for sign-off
• completing the electronic design and producing the schematics
• Creating PCB layouts using Altium
• Creating a detailed BOM
• Liaising with manufacturers and overseeing the PCB manufacture
• Creation or overseeing of test routines and procedures
• Final debug and supervising compliance testing.

Although we operate based on project ownership, cradle to grave, the engineering team members work together to share advice and guidance.
