Our client based in Colchester is seeking a Chef to join their team on a permanent basis with a salary of £14.70 on offer working a rota of 3 days on 5 days off. What does the role entail?

You will prepare and serve meals and snacks for our 28 residents, ensuring to maintain the 5-star Food Hygiene rating and a clean kitchen. Responsibilities include end-of-shift cleaning, maintaining records, and completing the weekly online food order. This role will require a creative, nutrition-savvy individual with a passion for baking and the ability to work independently. You will showcase your baking skills at events like High Tea afternoons and parties and must have a personable approach and genuine interest in the residents. Own transport is essential due to our rural location. Flexibility for various rota arrangements, including weekends and bank holidays, and completion of annual mandatory training are required.

What skills will you have?

The ideal candidate for this Chef role will be able to perform the above duties with ease. A car and driving license would be essential as this site is in a remote location however petrol allowance will be provided. It would be advantageous if you have a DBS, although this is not essential as the care home will be go through the DBS process with you. Above all, you will be a hard-working, flexible, and trustworthy team player, who has experience as a chef.
