About the Role:

• Salary of £20K-£25K per annum, dependent on experience
• Flexible working hours (16 hours per week)

The primary purpose of the Health & Safety Manager is to advise the Senior Management Team on safety issues, to ensure compliance with health & safety legislation and the safeguarding of employees.

Main responsibilities, will include but not be limited to:

• Create and implement workplace health and safety plans and procedures
• Assess and monitor health and safety risks and hazards in the workplace, identifying areas for development
• Evaluate health and safety practice and procedures for risk assessment and following legal guidelines
• Conduct accident prevention training and health and safety training
• Inspect equipment for unsafe workplace conditions
• Investigate accidents and incidents to find cause and take prevention measures for further incidents
• Managing emergency procedures (such as fire alarm drills) and organising emergency teams such as fire marshals and first aiders.

Skills & Attributes required:

• Proven experience within a similar role
• Knowledge of health and safety laws and guidelines
• NEBOSH Diploma
• Certified in COSHH
• Experience of working to COMAH regulations
• Ability to provide detailed reports and develop safety procedures
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build strong working relationships at all levels
