Network Engineer - Greater Manchester - to £60K+ benefits. On-site position.

A great opportunity for a 5+ years experienced Network Engineer to join a $multi-billion Semiconductor Manufacturing company, providing very technical 3rd line IT support in the planning, deploying, administering, maintaining, and upgrading of their global network systems and services.

Reporting directly to the Global Network Manager this is a great chance for a highly technical Network Engineer to really delve deep into some interesting and challenging network problems and then roll out their own solutions.

You will need -

  • A Degree or equivalent experience in IT or equivalent discipline.
  • One of the following or a similar qualification:

           Cisco CCNA or Higher

           Palo Alto PCNSA or Higher

           Fortinet NSE4 or Higher

           CompTIA Network+

  • Experience diagnosing and resolving problems.
  • STP troubleshooting, VLAN creation and deployment (understanding of VTP), Trunk and Port-Channel configuration and Vendor Best-Practice.
  • EIGRP, Static Routing and Route Redistribution troubleshooting, configuration and deployment.
  • Firewall capture configuration and review. Firewall log analysis. Firewall rule, NAT and route trace and troubleshooting.
  • Wireless troubleshooting, configuration and deployment via Managers, Wireless LAN controllers or Dashboards. SSID/Wireless network optimization.
  • Troubleshooting of Avaya Analog, Digital and IP phone systems. Configuration and deployment of new users, extensions and VM boxes.
  • Expanded knowledge of DNS.
  • DHCP, NTP, RADIUS/LDAP, NPS and AD.
