To assist the Schemes Manager in the operational delivery of our works for Hampshire Highways, ensuring compliance with the Contract and the Company's Corporate Policies & Strategies.

The candidate will report directly to the Schemes Manager and as a member of this team will be responsible for the successful delivery of Footway & Drainage schemes, including section 106 schemes. The candidate will also contribute to the strategic development and growth of this contract.

Key duties & responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the operational delivery of all Schemes within Hampshire Highways including:
  • Management of our extensive supply chain,
  • Ownership of the annual plan and contractor's programme
  • Be familiar with, and demonstrate commitment to the requirements of the Health & Safety and Environmental Policies,
  • Establish a proactive health and safety culture in line with our business standards.
  • Supporting the ongoing cultural change programme for alignment of delivery to Milestones core values and purpose
  • Responsible for delivering contract efficiencies.
  • Represent the Schemes Team on joint meetings with Hampshire CC
  • Ensure the work is resourced with sufficient staff, competent for the role expected from them.
  • Proactively develop client relationships. Maintain sound communications with clients, depots, and supply chain.
  • Ensure a regular and robust timetable of internal meetings are implemented with relevant parties for which you are responsible.
  • Ensure that the contractors receive or have access to copies of the Environmental Policy and are kept informed of environmental developments and issues,
  • Ensure that the Environmental Policy and appropriate parts of Environmental Procedures are effectively managed and communicated to the workforce, particularly to those engaged on activities that have been identified as likely to have a significant environmental impact.
  • Ensure that quality is maintained to high standard on all schemes and Minimum standards are adhered to.

Additional responsibilities:

  • Manage and deliver the contract tender margin.
  • Manage the delivery from ECI to scheme completion.
  • Establish and maintain a proactive health and safety culture.
  • Enforce and comply with company policies and procedures.
  • Ensure contractual compliance and minimise defects.
  • Develop and maintain sound communications with both existing and proposed clients and supply chain.

Essential skills & experience:

  • Strong people skills with experience in managing employees, customers, and suppliers,
  • Track record in delivering multiple packages of work to agreed programmes and timescales.
  • A clear understanding of the health and safety, environmental and other requirements associated with the process of delivering multiple packages of highway works.
  • A high level of emotional and social intelligence,
  • Demonstrable experience in highways
  • Understanding of financial and contract payment mechanisms
  • Computer literacy with basic MS packages,
  • Able to work to tight deadlines under pressure,
  • Manage and prioritise own workload,
  • Excellent attention to detail

Qualifications:

Has or willing to obtain.

  • SMSTS, IOSHH.
  • CSCS level 3.
  • NRSWA - Supervisor.
  • Temporary works supervisor.
  • T7 traffic management 12 D
