Overview:

Compass Associates is proudly partnering with an established and leading provider of specialist care and support for adults and children in the UK, to recruit a Consultant Psychiatrist. Our client have over 90 services in the country, which cover mental health, neurological and learning disabilities rehabilitation, as well as children’s services.

Now, they are seeking to bolster the Medical Psychiatry department at their medium sized, inpatient mental health hospital for adults in Exeter. We are seeking a Consultant Psychiatrist to oversee a 16-bedded ward, working in conjunction with an Associate Specialist as part of a wider team with the same structure on the second ward.

Location:          

The service is based in Exeter; thus the role is commutable from Taunton, Glastonbury, Bridgwater, Yeovil, Bridport, Dartmouth, Plymouth, Tavistock, Barnstaple and other surrounding towns and villages.

Criteria:              

• MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
• Full GMC registration with licence to practice
• MRCPsych or MRCPsych equivalent approved by the Royal College of Psychiatrists
• Section 12(2) approval to work in England and Approved clinician status
• Experience of working within acute inpatient settings

Shift Pattern:                                

As a Consultant Psychiatrist, you will operate on a Mon – Fri schedule, 37.5 hours per week.

Interview Process:         

This will be a two or three stage process, with the 1st stage being an informal introductory call, followed by a 2nd stage site visit which can be combined with a formal interview, or done separately, as preferred.  

Salary and Benefits:          

£160,000 - £165,000 + £8,400 car allowance and £8,000 relocation package (if applicable), as well as an industry leading benefit package, including:
