Location: Lovely 1 Form Entry Primary School, Heart of Wakefield 

Position: Intervention Assistant 

Start Date: September 

Contract: Full-Time, 1 Year

Salary: Between £90 - £100 per day (Experience dependent)

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young learners? Our charming one-form entry primary school in the heart of Wakefield is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Intervention Assistant to join our team.

About the Role:

As an Intervention Assistant, you will support classes from EYFS to KS2, with a focus on lower KS2. You will help pupils with interventions in key topics, including Phonics (Read Write Inc) and those with additional needs such as SEMH and low ability. This is a full-time position on a one-year contract, starting in September.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide targeted support to pupils in EYFS to KS2, primarily lower KS2.

- Responsible for planning, delivering and assessing interventions in key topics, including Phonics (RWI Trained), Literacy and Maths.

- Support pupils with additional needs, including SEMH and low ability.

- Collaborate with teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.

- Monitor and report on pupil progress.

Requirements:

- Experience working with children in an educational setting, ideally primary education.

- RWI (Read Write Inc) training is highly desirable.

- Understanding of SEMH and strategies to support pupils with additional needs.

- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.

- A pro-active attitude and ability to use your own initiative.

- A passion for helping children reach their full potential.
