Educate Group are recruiting for a specialist Behavioural Teaching Assistant, in our partner secondary school in Rhyl. This is a full-time position, from September until initially January, with the potential to be extended further.

As a Behavioural Teaching Assistant, you will be students with behavioural challenges to achieve their academic and personal goals. You will work closely with classroom teachers and behavioural specialists to implement tailored strategies that promote positive behaviour and academic success.

Responsibilities of a Cover Supervisor:

  1. Supervise classes and deliver pre-prepared lessons in the absence of a teacher
  2. Ensure that students are engaged, motivated and on task
  3. Manage any behaviour issues that may arise
  4. Follow school policies and procedures
  5. Maintain accurate records of student progress

Requirements of a Cover Supervisor:

  • A degree or Level 3 qualification with solid standards of literacy and numeracy
  • Experience working or volunteering with children or young people
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to manage behaviour effectively
  • A positive attitude and a willingness to learn
  • Flexibility and adaptability

Registrations required to be a Cover Supervisor:

  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, but if you do not have one, you can apply for a new one through Educate.
  • You must register with the EWC (Education Workforce Council) to work in Wales.
