Embodied Carbon Specialist / Embodied Carbon Assessor / Sustainability / Construction

This role is for an enthusiastic and dedicated sustainability professional to lead and grow a team. Working across multiple embodied carbon, carbon footprinting, life cycle assessment (LCA) projects, and circularity predominantly assessing construction products and buildings.

The position will work, in a design team, to help deliver the Net Zero (Embodied) Carbon requirements on projects and will have opportunities to work with progressive clients, helping them achieve measurable sustainability benefits.

Responsibilities

  • Delivering embodied carbon, product carbon footprints and Life Cycle Assessments
  • Assessing Project and Building Materials Life Cycle Circularity
  • Managing delivery of consultancy projects
  • Writing technical summary reports and detailed technical reports
  • Liaison with clients, project partners and key stakeholders
  • Analysis of large datasets, condensing into robust and digestible outputs
  • Supporting both junior level consultants and senior colleagues

Experience Required

You will have experience of carbon footprinting, embodied carbon and full LCA, assessing multiple environmental impacts at once. You will enjoy both managing delivery of consulting projects and working independently, under times of minimal supervision.

  • Excellent Excel skills, comfortable creating and maintaining large and complicated Excel models
  • Experience assessing the embodied carbon footprint and LCA impacts of products, buildings or construction assets
  • STEM Degree (Science, Technology, Engineering & Maths) or suitable experience and skills
  • A good understanding of product or building carbon footprint standards. Such as EN 15804, EN 15978, PAS 2050, WRI GHG Protocol, ISO 14076
  • Experience with ecoinvent, OpenLCA, SimaPro or GaBi is advantageous
  • Data extraction and analysis skills
