An advanced research and development facility focused on the material science of energy storage and the development of novel electric drive technologies is currently looking to hire an Embedded Software Engineer. The successful candidate will design, develop, and maintain software for embedded systems, ensuring seamless integration with hardware components and optimal performance.
 
The Embedded Software Engineer will:
  • Develop control algorithms using C/C++ code.
  • Support system integration, provide debugging capability during development and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Develop software to Automotive industry safety standards (Misra C, ISO26262)
 
The Embedded Software Engineer will have:
  • BEng/BSc/MEng/MSc (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline such as computer science, electronics or similar.
  • Thorough knowledge of automotive industry and necessary standards (ISO 26262) alongside experience in other safety critical domains such as defence (vehicular) and aerospace.
  • Proven track record of successfully delivered hands-on code development.
  • Experience of low communication protocols (I2C, SPI, USB, UART, LIN, CAN)
  • Knowledge and understanding of EV traction inverters and DC-DC converters.
  • Effective time-management and workload prioritisation skills.
