Guaranteed Supply Teacher (SEND)

£120 - £220/day Dependant on Qualifications and Experience

Empowering Learning are looking for a Supply Teacher available for work in Nottingham and the surrounding areas. For the right candidate a guaranteed pay scheme will be available. The ideal candidate should have experience of working with SEND children, though this is not essential. The ability to teach a range of age groups and individual needs would be highly advantageous. QTS is essential.

This would be an ideal opportunity for a teacher looking to provide quality supply teaching, a teacher in semi-retirement or someone looking for additional flexibility in their working lives.

The ideal candidate will:

  • QTS
  • Have the ability to teach across the age groups.
  • Ability and experience of working with SEND/SEMH pupils.
  • Knowledge of secondary age curriculum expectations
  • Be highly organised with excellent communication skills
  • Have a desire to work with, inspire and support children from all needs and backgrounds
  • Have excellent behaviour management skills
  • Understand the expectations against the Teachers Standards.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Providing quality teaching and learning.
  • Following planning mapped out for staff by heads of department.
  • Planning lessons and activities for whole class learning and group learning.
  • Supporting SEND children with their work in a class setting
  • Managing difficult behaviours and implementing the school behaviour policy
  • Safeguarding vulnerable pupils
  • Possible supervising on lunch and break times
  • Supporting and managing teaching assistants within the classroom
  • Building relationships with staff and pupils
  • Collecting evidence of pupils work to support their assessments
  • Feedback to the relevant member of staff about the pupils progress
  • Ensure a team approach to education with stakeholders such as parents and carers
