Engineering Facilitator - Bury

The Cormar Carpet Company have been making carpets since 1956 at their two mills in Lancashire. They make and deliver their carpets to around 3,000 retailers across the UK and Ireland, with a fleet of over 65 vehicles. They've won over forty carpet and flooring industry awards, including being voted "Best Carpet Manufacturer 2023" by readers of Interiors Monthly and F1 "Carpet Supplier Of The Year" for the last 14 years.

Job purpose: Contribute to the effective running of Cormar's Engineering Team and the plants in Brookhouse and Holme Mill.

Key responsibilities

  • Preparing and updating Planned Maintenance Schedules, working with Planning and Production teams to ensure timely completion in line with OEM specifications.
  • Preparing and updating Total Preventative Maintenance Schedules, working with Planning and Production teams to ensure timely completion in line with OEM specifications.
  • Identifying development needs and updating Training Matrices, working with HR and OEM to schedule training.
  • Working with Engineering Coordinators to identify critical spares and purchase/replenish accordingly.
  • Work with Engineering Manager to create a 3-step procurement process to ensure control of spend and invoice payment.
  • Work with the whole team on obsolescence and risk of incumbent equipment and help prepare plans to update/replace.
  • Work with the whole team on disaster recovery and risk mitigation plans.
  • Support Engineering Manager with Capex monitoring and management.
  • Metrics reporting on downtime and task completion.
  • Assist team with Standard Work creation.

Please Note: This role reports to the Engineering & Facilities Manager for day to day duties/priorities and therefore the responsibility for standards of workmanship required in additional technical duties lies with the Engineering Manager.

Hours: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week

Package:

  • Annual salary circa £35,000
  • Discretionary annual bonus
  • 31 days holiday, including bank holidays, increasing to 35 days after 5 years service
  • Healthcare scheme and pension (company matches employees contribution up to 10%) after 3 months service
  • Private medical after 12 months service
