As part of this successful housing group, we are the innovative construction and trading business known as Three Sixty SHG Ltd. We have formed and grown since inception back in 2016, with a pipeline of capital works projects, new build and other external refurbishments & alterations projects. Three Sixty has the vision to design, build, refurbish and regenerate places to improve economic and social outcomes for people. 

We are currently recruiting a Managing Quantity Surveyor to lead and manage the commercial team to ensure its processes are fit for purpose and the company achieves its financial goals. 

The key purpose of this position is to provide commercial expertise in the delivery of each contract and implement where possible, value engineering solutions and strategy to optimise profit and efficiency for the business, whilst overseeing all projects supporting the wider business. The successful applicant will also actively support the implementation and management of all IT / financial systems to enable the commercial function and operational processes to maintain BAU and achieve forecasted / budgeted margins. 

As the Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be responsible for: 

  • Ensuring projects are delivered within budgets and timescales, ensuring profit margins are achieved. 

  • Managing all aspects of the team and individual staff performances to enable the achievement of objectives in line with company and group values... 

  • Leading the commercial team with the preparation of accurate monthly company accounts liaising with the group financial team 

  • Providing accurate, real-time monthly reports, final outcome forecasts and project cash flows to demonstrate commercial performance. 

  • Leading on the production of contractor’s proposal documents, bids and other tender documents 

  • Carrying out tender analysis, subcontractor and supplier procurement management and payment of subcontractor accounts 

  • Liaising with subcontractors regarding discrepancies and queries, and also in terms of managing their performance 

Our ideal candidate will have: 

  • Demonstratable experience of and ability in commercial acumen, financial planning and P & L account management 

  • Experience and a proven record of managing a multi-discipline team 

  • Substantial experience of working with a broad range of partners and stakeholders in a customer-driven, commercial environment 

  • A recognised RICS or relevant Quantity Surveying / Construction specific qualifications at degree level or above, and extensive experience of working at a senior level 

  • Demonstrated advanced IT skills, particularly in Microsoft Excel, Word and cost management systems.
