Site Manager / Working Foreman

Salary Range £35 - £45k

Minimum of 10 years experience in the construction industry (civils ideally)

SMSTS essential, Black Card ideal

  • 40 hours/week
  • 33 days holiday/yr including bank holidays and Christmas Shutdown

Job Description:

As a Site Supervisor / Working Foreman you will play a key role in the construction and refurbishment of Water projects. Reporting directly to the Project Manager, you will work as part of a small team to actively ensure construction projects are delivered in line with time, cost, quality, environment and safety standards. You will be working with a well-established team that pride itself on its quality and this role will give you a varied workday.

This is a full time position, the work hours are Monday to Friday, 7am - 4pm. Must be happy to travel to sites across the UK (accomodation paid for), and to stop out over week days (subsistence allowance provided). Paid overtime as required.

You will be required to drive as part of your role and you will need to have a full driving license to be considered for this position and during employment.

Your primary role

  • Managing a small team of operatives.
  • Assuring the completion of planned works to agreed standards.
  • Ensuring that all works are constructed in line with: CDM regulations, HSE Legislation, Contractual obligations
  • Liaising with Project Managers to provide regular and timely feedback on the construction progress, risks, early warnings, design related issues, and act as the initial point of escalation for any on-site issues that need to be resolved.

Skill required:

  • Proven construction experience as a site foreman / Site manager.
  • Hold an SMSTS / Black Card
  • Hold a valid CSCS or CPCS Card.
  • Have an ability to execute tasks independently, yet work collaboratively within a team and respond to management guidance & support.
  • Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills in dealing with multiple stakeholders.
  • A willingness to learn and work as a team is essential.

Desirable:

  • Experience in earthworks, pipe laying, concreting and machine licences advantageous
  • Good understanding of the CDM Regulations.
  • Experience in Principal Contractor
  • Hold a Black Card
  • A recognised Civil Engineering qualification
