Job Description

We are seeking a reliable and skilled Highways Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining and improving our highways, ensuring they are safe and accessible for all road users.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and reactive maintenance on highways, including pothole repairs, resurfacing, and line marking.
• Operate and maintain various equipment and machinery safely and efficiently.
• Assist in the installation and repair of road signs, barriers, and other highway infrastructure.
• Ensure all work is completed to the highest standards and in compliance with health and safety regulations.
• Conduct traffic management duties, including setting up and taking down traffic control measures.
• Work collaboratively with other team members and supervisors to complete projects on time.

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Highways Operative or similar role in the construction or maintenance industry.
• Proficiency with construction tools and machinery used in highway maintenance.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations related to highway operations.
• Strong physical stamina and the ability to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
• Relevant certifications (e.g., NRSWA) are highly desirable.
• Reliable transportation to various job sites in the Surrey area.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
