Astute's Nuclear team is partnering with a civil nuclear and defence subcontractor to support a nuclear defence framework in recruiting a team of 8 Decommissioning Operatives on a rolling contract for its Aldermaston site.

The Decommissioning Operative role comes with an hourly rate up to £29.73 through CIS.

Key skills

Carry out tasks as required for specific decommissioning projects, including:

• Plant and equipment size reduction
• Plant and equipment decontamination
• Building/room/floor decontamination
• Support to HP monitors during waste packaging and processing.
• Other work areas could involve plant operations, installation and support to commissioning.
• Complete and maintain as necessary all associated records and documentation.
• Contribute to the development of business by internal referral and communication of appropriate information and intelligence.

Location, remuneration and timeframe of the Decommissioning Operative role

• Based at Aldermaston full time
• Hourly rate of £29.73 CIS
• Overtime (40-60 hours at 1.5x and 60+ hours at 2x times)
