Questech are recruiting on behalf of our client in Huddersfield West Yorkshire for a Field Service Engineer to work throughout the UK and Ireland.

The Person:

• Sound electrical and mechanical engineering skills from any background.
• Experience working with invertor drives, PLCs, pneumatics, hydraulics, vacuum, or refrigeration systems would be beneficial.
• Good communication skills both written and oral are essential for building relationships with customers and suppliers alike.
• Basic knowledge of MS Word and Outlook.
• Full UK driver’s licence.
• Eligiblity to live and work in the UK and travel to Ireland.

The Role:

• Diagnosing issues with customers’ machinery both remotely and onsite.
• Liaising directly with customers to identify issues, trouble-shoot, and agree a plan for their resolution. 
• Where appropriate, escalating issues to a senior engineer and/or technical staff working for our European suppliers, and collaborating with them to find solutions.
• Preparing new machinery for sale.
• Fixing and refurbishing used machinery ready for resale.
• Undertaking workshop repairs of machinery for return to customers.
• Planning and making routine maintenance visits to customers.
• Delivering and installing new machinery.
• In a timely fashion, preparing service reports for management and office staff; to include diagnoses, solutions, parts used, and time spent attending to any specific job / customer visit.
• Assisting with ordering, receipt and despatch of spare parts as required.
• Maintenance of an appropriate tool kit, with any issues or deficiencies reported to Management in a timely manner.
• Following Company Health and Safety procedures and those of any third-party premises.
• Following customs procedures as set out by office staff when travelling to customers in Northern Ireland and Ireland.

The Salary will be between £40,000pa + an Excellent Benefits Package 

This role is working Monday to Friday but may include some overnight stays.
