Job Title: Project Manager - Capital Projects

Location: Merseyside, Hybrid (3/2 days split)

Duration: Up to 6 months

Salary/Rate: Inside IR35 - £400 per day (Negotiable)

Spencer Clarke Group's client, a local authority in Merseyside, is seeking experienced Interim Project Managers to join their team and deliver a range of ambitious and varied capital projects. These projects, which include schools, leisure centres, and depots, range in value from £0.5m to £20m+. This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned Project Manager to make a positive impact on the city, its environment, and its residents.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the development of projects by working with Sponsors and Users, preparing business cases, and formulating project delivery strategies.
• Act as the Client Project Manager on various projects, ensuring stakeholder requirements are met.
• Manage multidisciplinary project teams to ensure efficient and effective project delivery.
• Prepare and manage project budgets, financial reports, and oversee financial planning.
• Develop project programs and plans, including risk management strategies.
• Prepare consultancy briefs, procure and manage consultants and service contracts.
• Conduct regular site visits to monitor project progress and ensure compliance with specifications.

Experience and Qualifications

• Proven experience in delivering buildings from inception to completion across the full range of RIBA stages.
• Demonstrated experience acting as a Client Project Manager for large-scale and/or complex projects.
• Familiarity with JCT and NEC contracts.
• Experience in procuring and appointing specialists, including design teams, cost planners, and external project managers.
• Understanding of the planning application process and development management.
• Membership in RICS, RIBA, CIOB, or APM.
• Construction industry-recognised Project Management qualification.
• Ability and willingness to undertake site visits.
