GSL Educationis currently seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Behaviour Support Assistant to undertake a position at one of our client schools in Sheffield.

The role of a Behavior Support Assistant in schools play a vital role in creating a positive and inclusive learning environment, supporting students with behavioral difficulties, and promoting the overall well-being of the school community.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Behaviour Support Assistant in schools typically holds a crucial role in promoting positive behavior and creating a supportive learning environment.
  • They work with senior leadership, teachers, and other staff to create policies that promote positive behavior and address any issues that may arise.
  • Behaviour Support Assistant provide guidance and support to teachers and other staff members on managing challenging behavior in the classroom. They may offer training sessions, workshops, or one-on-one support to help staff implement effective behavior management strategies.
  • Behaviour Support Assistant play a key role in fostering a positive school culture and ethos. They may organize initiatives and events aimed at promoting positive behavior, such as reward systems, assemblies, or anti-bullying campaigns.
  • Behaviour Support Assistant monitor the effectiveness of behavior management strategies and interventions implemented within the school.

The successful candidate will:

  • Have previous experience working as a behaviour assistant within an educational setting.
  • Possess strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Demonstrate empathy, patience, and resilience when working with students facing academic or behavioral challenges.
  • Hold relevant qualifications or training in education, childcare, or a related field.
