Job Title: Java Developer.

Location: Hertford.

Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 (dependent on experience).

Applause IT is hiring a Java Developer for an innovative software company based in Hertford.

Our client is a successful and fast-growing software company providing systems to leading UK, European, Asian, and North American retailers. They drive in-store, mobile, and online channels that make up a modern retail organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Develop high-quality, testable, well-documented software.
• Work closely with Technical Architects and Development Managers to convert specifications to production-quality software.
• Participate in configuration, testing, and release processes.
• Ensure adequate test coverage at unit and integration levels.
• Contribute to design and specification processes.

Required Skills:

• Strong Java programming skills.
• Experience with database development.
• Working knowledge of XML or JSON.
• Web Development experience.
• Analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Effective use of design patterns and unit testing frameworks.
• A minimum of 2 years experience in a similar role.

Desirable Skills:

• Frontend Web Development with React, Angular, or Vue.
• Familiarity with XML to Java binding technologies such as JAXB.
• Familiarity with J2EE application frameworks such as JSF, Spring, and Struts.
• Build tools such as Maven or Gradle.
