Contek are working with a long standing precision engineering client in Coventry, who produce high quality sub-contract Precision Components to a variety of industries including Pharmaceutical, Automotive, Cosmetic, High Speed Packaging, Motorsport and Aerospace companies.

Through acquisition and retirement - two Engineering professionals have acquired the business and are on a journey of development to take the business to the next level.

Through growth and investment we are looking for an experienced CNC Miller (CADCAM) to join the team on a permanent basis.

Working hours:

Mon-Weds: 7:00-5:30pm, Thurs: 7:00-4:30pm with opportunities of overtime on a Friday.

CNC Miller Programmer, Setter Operator

Experiences and skills required.

• Ideally apprenticed trained and from a time served engineering background.
• Strong experience programming, setting and operating machines with CADCAM - they use ONECNC and looking to transition to SolidCAM in the future. So we would be open to various transferrable system use.
• Working on 3-5 axis CNC mills.
• Ability to work on Heidenhain and Siemens machinery ideally.
• Initially be versatile in reference to CADCAM programming, through to machining - as the business grows this will move more into just the programming element.
• Strong Computer skills
• Competent in self-inspection.
• Able to interpret and work to engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing and Datum system
• Working to tight tolerances within a typical ISO9001 machining environment
• Ability to work in a fast-paced sub-contract environment.

Role

• Programme, Set and run CNC Mills.
• Produce programmes and parts to drawing and at commercially viable cycle times.
• Communicate effectively and aid other when necessary in the setting up process.
• Review new sub contract enquiries to produce accurate cycle times and tooling requirements for the sales team.
• Permanent position available.
