Electrical Design Engineer

The Role
OLG Engineering are looking for a Electrical Design Engineer to work in the Engineering Design team within their office. This position will be based in Daresbury.
You will report to the E,C&I Section Lead engineer, and will be responsible for all generation of E&I deliverables as required on a project by project basis. These will typically include:
- Layout and Routing Drawings in 2D/3D
- General Arrangement Drawings
- Wiring Diagrams and Schematics
- Cable Sizing Calculations (Trimble)
- Relux Lighting Calculations
- Selection and design of equipment in Hazardous Areas
Due to diversification of the business, it will also be advantageous to have experience in instrument and control design including:
- Loop drawings
- Instrument Datasheets
- Intrinsically Safe Descriptive system documents
- Hook-Ups
The Successful Candidate will have the following:
- HNC/HND/BTEC/GNVQ in Electrical Engineering
- Engineering Apprenticeship plus formal design office training.
- 3-5 years’ experience in E&I Design activities
- AutoCAD experience in 2D/3D design
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations City and Guilds 2382-18 Course
- Experience of Trimble
And would be advantageous if they also had:
- Instrumentation Experience
- CompEx Part 12 - Application Design Engineer
- Appreciation of Functional Safety
