TeacherActive are looking for Teaching Assistant to work in an special school in Barnsley. This school caters to young people, both Primary and Secondary ages. This special school aims to ensure that all children and young people are well prepared for further education, employment and participation in society.

As a Teaching Assistant your responsibilities will include being proactive and engaging in lessons to support and develop SEN students. This is a great chance to gain an abundance of experience to add to your profile and keep everyday exciting. We build strong relationships with our schools and support staff so we can find the best placements that suit you and your schedule.

The ideal Teaching Assistant should have the following:

• Level 2 or 3 qualified and/or experience with Children who have Special Educational Needs
• A calm, patient, and caring persona
• Good behaviour management
• A good understanding of child protection and safeguarding guidelines
• Experience in working with and supporting students in their education on a 1:1 and a small group basis
