Independent Adoption Assessor

Adoption@Heart are recruiting independent adopter assessors. We are looking for applicants who are experienced in completing Prospective Adopter Reports (PARs).
Adoption@Heart is a Regional Adoption Agency (RAA), delivering adoption services for the local authorities and children's trust within the Black Country region:
* City of Wolverhampton Council
* Dudley Council
* Sandwell Children's Trust
* Walsall Council
We welcome adoptive applications from those living in the Black Country. We also welcome applications from other areas throughout the West Midlands and neighbouring authorities and counties.
On behalf of the Black Country local authorities and trust, we recruit adopters, find families for children, and provide adoption support.
Successful assessors will have a relevant professional qualification in social work of at least 2 years, together with valid SWE registration. You will also have experience of undertaking assessments of potential adopters. A good knowledge of safeguarding, adoption legislation and adoption regulations as listed below is essential:
* Adoption and Children's Act 2002.
* Children and Families Act 2014.
* Adoption Support Services Regulations 2005 (amended 2014)
* Adoption Agencies Regulations 2005
* Children Act 1989.
* Adoption Minimum Standards.
* Stat Guidance on Adoption 2013
You will be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills.
You will need to be flexible and have the capability to use your initiative and work under pressure to ensure deadlines are met and to enable the smooth running of the service.

The fee for a completed assessment of this type would be £2100, including reimbursement of mileage cost and any other essential expenses
