HGV Class 1 Flat Bed Driver

Sterling Personnel are currently seeking a skilled and reliable HGV Class 1 Flat Bed Driver for an ongoing position working alongside our client based in Brierley Hill.

This will be a Monday to Friday position, 05.30am - 06.00am starts with runs usually around 10-12 hours per day. The runs will usually consist of 1 drop and back to the yard.

Due to the nature of the work the client have specified that the driver will require a minimum of 2 years experience working with the delivery of steel (this can be accumulative HGV Class 1 and Class 2)

LTD Drivers are welcome at this client 

Responsibilities:
- Safely and efficiently operate a Class 1 vehicle with a flat bed trailer
- Complete daily vehicle checks and ensure all relevant paperwork is accurately completed
- Load and unload goods in a timely and secure manner, adhering to company regulations
- Plan routes effectively, ensuring on-time deliveries and optimal fuel efficiency
- Comply with all relevant legislation regarding driving hours and tachograph usage
- Provide exceptional customer service, maintaining professional communication at all times

Qualifications:
- Valid HGV Class 1 Licence with no more than 6 points 2 years experience essential
- Valid CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Previous experience with Steel work is essential for this position
- Excellent understanding of road safety regulations and best practices
- Ability to handle and secure loads safely
- Strong communication skills with the ability to provide exceptional customer service
- Good organizational and time management skills, ensuring deliveries are made on schedule

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £16.50 per hour

Expected hours: 45 – 50 per week
