Flowbird are at the leading edge of fare management and self–service ticketing solutions for public transport with solutions in over 4000 towns and cities around the world.  There is a step change in the way that the public expects to consume transport services. Flowbird are committed to being at the forefront of this shift and so we have a need for a  Systems Test Engineer who will be primarily focused on  all aspects of testing on integrated systems, the test engineer will be required to work with development teams, design architects, product owners, project managers and sometimes the end users. Experience in V-Model and Agile test methodologies would be of benefit.

The role holder will have excellent manual testing skills to perform system, end to end and user-acceptance testing but exploratory, automated and component level testing are also highly valued. All of which will require a proficiency in the generation of test scenarios, test cases and test plans, combined with great communication skills to provide feedback to the test/project/development teams.

Responsibilities include

• • Static testing of project/test documents/requirements
  • Writing test scenarios and preparing test cases
  • Deploying systems for test execution
  • Executing test cases
  • Ensuring that Flowbird’s testing standards are adhered to throughout the testing process
  • Prepares test plans, test status reports and test outcome reports
  • Providing feedback to the development/project delivery teams
  • Scheduling test activities
  • Maintain and manage test equipment/test environments
  • Maintain generic test documentation and offer guidance on any bespoke test documentation
  • Work with peers in Development, Program Management and Design teams
  • Contribute to a service minded and customer centric approach

Experience Required

• The ideal candidate would have experience of software testing, tools and practices.
• Evidence of 2+ years of System Test roles/experience.
• Awareness of automated tests is beneficial but not essential.
• ISTQB Foundation certification (or equivalent)
• Any additional qualifications in computing, engineering, science or testing fields would be beneficial, e.g Network Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics and Quality Assurance.

The role is based at our Transport headquarters in Poole with some hybrid working available. Salary will be based on experience, and would include a strong benefits package.
