SEN Teaching Assistant PMLD School (Early Years)

The School and Role:

This Small, PMLD & SEND Complex Need Special School (Social Emotional and Mental Health needs) School, based in Leeds are looking to appoint a passionate Teaching Assistant to work with pupils aged 3-6 on a Full-Time basis.. Working in this PLMD School as part of an established team, the desired Teaching Assistant will be working with a high volume of staff in KS1 with pupils with PLMD and complexed needs. This will require working with pupils on their education whilst also working with them on their needs. The desired candidate will have previous knowledge of SEN.

Requirements:

The desired teaching Assistant will have;

  • 1:1 support with children from age 5-19.
  • Provide calming and nurturing support for some of the most vulnerable students with EHCP's.
  • Working with small groups of children providing intervention support.
  • Working with children with a range of complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other staff members.
  • A passion for working with children with additional needs
  • Experience of Teaching with EYFS and SEND
